Self Reliance

Freedom without a way to earn a living doesn't last. Real self reliance means a family can stand on its own two feet — a skill to sell, or capital to start something of their own — so today's gift is the last one that family ever needs from us.

Right now that means two things: teaching women a trade they can build a small business around, and putting working capital in the hands of families ready to run one.

Women's Sewing Ministry

Our Proverbs 31 Women's Sewing Ministry teaches tailoring to women stepping out of brick-kiln work — a skill they can turn into steady income for the rest of their lives. This semester, 16 women need a complete set of their own tools to finish the course and start taking in work.

$30 Per woman, for a complete set of professional tools

Micro-Loan Program

A rickshaw or a small trade is often the only thing standing between a freed family and real independence. Modeled on Pakistan's interest-free microfinance programs, TLUCF buys the equipment outright and holds the title until it's paid off — so a missed payment costs a family nothing beyond delay, and every dollar repaid gets loaned right back out to the next family in line.

$1,674 Per family, all in — later recovered and relent as loans are repaid

A trade of her own, or a rickshaw that's hers to keep — self reliance means a family never has to depend on anyone's charity again, including ours.

Help a family build something that lasts.

Every gift toward the sewing ministry or micro-loans moves a family from surviving to sustaining themselves.
